Changing brand names on current listings

Hello,

I have been contacting Amazon about this issue for a few weeks now and seemingly keep going around in circles with a lot of convoluted information that they’re sending me and asking for.

We have multiple brands within our company, 4 of them are trademarked, one of which only recently and I am looking to change the brand name on those listings to show the correct brand name but currently am unable to do so, it is either locked or if it isn’t locked it will throw up an error to do with the ASIN and I’m unable to edit.

Is there any way to achieve this? Never have issues elsewhere like this, but it is very frustrating now and all we want to do is change the brand name itself. It is recognised by Amazon as trademarked and appears in the drop down list when editing the listing, but as mentioned when I do change it I get an error or it’s completely locked and greyed out.

Thanks in advance!

You can’t change a brand name retrospectively- would be unfair to any other sellers on that listing who would immediately become in breach of rules.

Are you the only seller on the listing? Is it brand registry protected?

We have managed to change brand names on a listing before as it was uploaded by error, but it was changed about 6 months later. It is our brand with no other sellers on it.

Yes that worked for me, I spoke to serval of seller support reps and in the end this got me working.

Yes adding listing with same ASIN will work and dont forget to add same SKU as well when creating the listing.

Yes it will keep your reviews and sales history as well if you want to double check talk to seller support to confirm it.

I’ve had the same experience - Generic listings when first starting out, then changing to my brand once Trademark granted. I had success with support, and didn’t have to delete/recreate listings.

Granted, it did take a few messages back-and-forth, but I stressed
a) I was the only seller listing the ASINs in question
b) It’s in the interest of the customer to change the brand for transparency, correctness and completeness of information
c) The reason, (i.e. in my case, pending trademark)

Be prepared to send images of product packaging showing the branding and satisfying any applicable labelling requirements.

We had the same problem recently. We were not able to change the brand name for existing ASINs.
Amazon does not allow to do so.
Below a copy of their response to this issue (translated form spanish):
If you decide to rebrand a product, you will need to create a new ASIN instead of updating an existing one. You will have to do this even if the product does not materially change after the change.

You will have to remove your products (if you have them in FBA), create new ASINs with the new brand, relabel and reship to amazon’s warehouses.

I think the difference in whether successful or not depends on who created the original listing.

If the original creator is still the only seller and deletes, waits 24 hours, then re-creates they can often change certain attributes like Brand

If however you are just creating an offer on a listing created by someone else then you will find changing Brand is impossible. - deleting etc will have no effect as other people have offers on the listing.

I’ve had the same problem. I wanted to change the brand on a listing I created to reflect a trademark I had on brand registry. I, too, encountered errors and support were useless. I was told I need to copy the listing, and delete the old one, but then lose reviews etc.

I couldn’t get support to understand that the brand (packaging etc.) hadn’t actually changed, it’s just that it was now registered. I wish you luck. Perhaps appeal until you get someone who understands? I’ve given up for the moment.
